The House of Representatives said it will continue its opposition to the removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government.
Chairman House committee on Media and Public Affairs Rep Zakari Mohammed (PDP, Kwara) said this in Abuja.
“It won’t stand and Nigerians will see what will happen and where we will go, but I can assure Nigerians that we are not going back on it. You should allow the budget to be debated. We will find a way out of it,” Mohammed said.
The House had on December 1, adopted the report of its Joint committee on the joint committee on Finance, Appropriations, Legislative Budget and Research, and National Planning and Economic Development, recommending the rejection of subsidy removal because the plan was “premature.”
