Kano state House of Assembly has impeached its speaker, Alhaji Yusuf Abdullahi Falgore of Rogo constituency replacing him with Alhaji Gambo Sallau of Kiru constituency.
32 of the 40 members voted to impeach the speaker on charges of incompetent leadership.
Alhaji Gambo Sallau Kiru emerged speaker with 22 votes against Kabiru Alasan Rurum of Rogo constituency with seven votes and Ibrahim Abba Garko, who scored one vote.
The new speaker, Alhaji Gambo Sallau pledged to collaborate with the executive arm of the government in pursuing its policies provided they did not clash with public interest.
