In his judgment,justice Umar Wada Rano said the plaintiffs had failed to establish that the presenter of Inda Ranka programme in August 2004 Bala Muhammad Koki and government house correspondent then Garba Abdullahi Bagwai tarnished their image when they alledged that the award of the fertilizer contract of 3.9 billion naira did not follow due process.

Justice Wada noted that the information provided in Inda Ranka programme was that the then governor Ibrahim Shekarau administration awarded the fertilizer contract to one Muftau Baba without the state executive council resolution or the state house of assembly appropriation.
