Kano Fire Service saves N8.3bn propety and over 2000 lives in 2012

Soron-Dinki, said the department also rescued 2,808 persons from
1,897 fire outbreaks within the period.
He said that 171 persons and property worth hundreds of millions of
naira were lost during the period.
The director said that the department undertook many rescue
operations involving road accidents, drowning in rivers and wells
within the period.
He commended Gov. Rabi'u Kwankwaso, for equipping the department
with modern fire fighting facilities.
``The governor equipped us with five new fire fighting vehicles, 100
drums of foam chemicals, 100 delivery horses, 210 heavy duty
batteries and 75 tyres,’’ he said.
He cautioned residents of the state against storing inflammable or
burning refuse in their premises.
