Sugarcane farmers call for supply of Agricultural inputs

A cross section of the farmers told reporters that they need fertilizers and seedlings among others to enhance farming activities next year.

One of the farmers at Warwade Dam in Dutse Local Government area, Shuaibu Usman, said like other food crop farmers, sugarcane farmers also need access to the items for high productivity.

He said most of the farmers depend on local fertilizers to increase fertility of their farms, adding that more than 200 hectares of land were cultivated under irrigation farming in the state.

He decried scarcity of fertilizer, noting that it affected agricultural activities in the state.
