Northern governors forum condemns attack on Emir of Kano

The Northern States Governors Forum has condemned yesterday’s attack on the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero’s convoy in which some members of his entourage were reportedly killed, urging security agencies to bring the perpetrators to book.

Chairman of the forum and Governor of Niger State, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu expressed the forum’s deepest sympathy to the families of those killed in the attack as well as the Government and people of Kano State

In a statement signed by Governor Aliyu’s Chief Press Secretary, Danladi Ndayebo, the forum said it is sad that the attack is coming at a time a lot of progress seemed to have been made in the war against terror.

The forum emphasized that the Emir has played a lead role in ensuring tolerance and peace in the state since he mounted the throne five decades ago.
