Kano state Govt. to register all dogs

Ganduje said this in Kano at the launch of the 2013 anti-rabies vaccination exercise.

He said that the registration would enable the government to know the population of dogs in the state in order to facilitate

adequate medication and protection for the animals.

``The state government deems it necessary to launch vigorous enlightenment campaign on preventive measures and steps

to take in case of any dog bite to minimise expose to dangers posed by rabies.’’

He said that the vaccination would be done in both urban and rural areas of the state free of charge.

He, therefore, urged pet owners to take their dogs to the nearest veterinary clinics for the vaccination.
