Emir rounds-off Eid durbar in Kano

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero has today rounded off activities marking this year’s Eid-el-Kabir traditional festivities.

Alhaji Ado Bayero led a procession of thousands of horse riders through the Soron-dinki to Gabari , Yan Mota and Bakin Zuwa as well as Jakara Marmara to Mandawari and back to Kofar Kwaru.

The Durbar organizing committee stated that today’s procession was carried out in place of the usual Hawan Pansaui in Ungogo local government area.

Correspondent Mohammed Harrisu Kofar Nassarawa reports that Kano residents came out en-mass to pay their homage to the emir along major roads in the metropolis.

Festivities linger

Correspondent Murtala Adewale reports that other eid festivities continue in Kano metropolis as fun seekers gather at recreation centers such as tourist camp, Kano zoo, and Gidan Makama Musuem.

In addition traffic congestion is still evident on the city roads as holiday makers  visit relations and places of interest.

However business activities are gradually returning to normal as banks and other commercial institutions have opened but most civil servants have not reported to work on Wednesday.
