Members of the National Assembly have rejected President Goodluck Jonathan's plan to remove fuel subsidy from next year and urged him to tackle the security challenges facing the country.
The members met with the president at the banquet hall of the presidential villa.
They told the president that time is not ripe for Nigeria to remove fuel subsidy as most citizens are wallowing in poverty.
The National Assembly members however urged the problem to give priority to security problems especially the sporadic attacks by the Jama'atu Ahlus Sunnah Lid Da'awati wal jihad otherwise known as Boko Haram.
