Federal Ministry of Finance says the near collapse of the Nigerian Capital Market was caused by the inconsistency of regulatory authorities.
Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala said this at the public hearing of the House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee on Capital market in Abuja.

Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shema has ordered the removal of 864 civil servants from the pay roll of the 34 local government councils in the state, due to various irregularities discovered in their appointments.
Governor Shema gave the order at the Government House in Katsina after receiving the report of the state committee on verification and data capturing of local government personnel.
Among those affected by the governor’s order were 130 local government officials who were ordered to be retired for over-staying in the service.
He said the affected officials were found to have either exceeded the mandatory retirement age of 60 or the maximum 35 years allowed in service.
The governor also stated that 352 local government officials who did not appear for the screening and bio-metric data capture exercise would be dropped as recommended by the verification committee.
He also directed that the 320 other staff employed by the various local government councils without approval, should also be removed from the payroll.
A Kano high court has sentenced Garba Bello Garba to death by hanging for culpable homicide.
